You’re in good hands.

We’ve removed and reinstalled hundreds of solar systems across Chicagoland. Your equipment warranties stay exactly where they are.

What homeowners worry about

Answered straight.

The honest answers to the five questions we hear most often. No fine print.

"Will my warranty be voided if I don't use my original installer?"
No. Your panel and inverter warranties stay with the equipment — not the installer. We use new flashings sealed to your roofer's spec, so the new-roof warranty stays in place too. And we back our own labor for 5 full years.
"Will I lose generation — and money — during the project?"
A little, but not much. Your system is offline roughly 4–6 days total. That's why we schedule tightly with your roofer instead of leaving panels off for weeks. You're back to producing fast.
"My installer said they'd handle the removal themselves. Should I wait?"
That's an option, but the timing rarely lines up with your roofer's schedule, and waiting can stretch your project out. Most providers have a simple approval process that lets an outside contractor do the work, and we handle it with you. Either way, your warranty stays exactly where it is.
"Will my roof leak after the panels go back on?"
No leaks is the standard. Every flashing we install is brand new and sealed to the roofer's spec. Each penetration is warranted leak-free for 5 years. If anything ever drips, that's on us — we come out and make it right.
"How do I know GoSolar is qualified?"
Roofing companies across Chicagoland bring us onto their customers' projects, because the coordination is smooth, the panels come back on right, and their client stays happy. When the pros choose who to work with, they choose carefully. You get that same team. We're licensed, certified, and we back our work with a 5-year warranty.
The process

How removal & reinstall works.

Five steps. Tightly scheduled with your roofer. Most homeowners are surprised by how smooth it is.

1

Site survey

We come out, look over your system, and check whether your city requires a permit. Some do, some don't — we'll tell you.

2

Permit pulled

If a permit is needed, we handle it. Once it clears, we line up our schedule with your roofer's so nothing slips.

3

We remove

A day or two before the roofers arrive, we safely power down your system and take the panels, rails, and flashings off.

4

Roofer works

Your roofer replaces the shingles on a clear deck. No working around panels means a faster, cleaner roof job.

5

We reinstall

2–3 days after the new roof is done, we're back. New flashings, panels reset, monitoring verified.

Your system is typically offline only ~4–6 days. That's the goal — protect your generation and get you back online fast.
